We headed out to the World Science Festival in Ipswich, running hands-on robotics workshops for families and students from across Western Brisbane and the Ipswich region.
We set up with Rovers, laptops, and wooden maze courses, and walked hundreds of kids through the basics of programming. Connecting to a Rover, writing their first block-based program, and watching their robot move through the maze in real time. Plenty of "I made it do that!" moments.
The Ipswich event is part of the World Science Festival's regional program, taking science and tech to communities across Queensland. Doing both Ipswich and Toowoomba alongside the main Brisbane festival means we get to reach a much wider mix of kids and families than we would just sticking to one venue.
Public events keep being one of the better ways for us to introduce the platform to new audiences and connect with teachers looking to bring robotics into their classrooms.
