We took the Rover platform out to the World Science Festival in Toowoomba, giving families and young learners across the Darling Downs a chance to try hands-on robotics and coding.
Visitors to our booth got to drive Rovers through wooden maze courses, try out the block-based coding environment, and learn about the sensors built into each Rover. We had interactive challenge stations set up where kids could program their Rover to navigate obstacles, with our team on hand to walk participants through their first lines of code.
The regional events at Toowoomba and Ipswich are a big part of why we keep showing up at the World Science Festival. Not every kid has access to robotics at school, and public events like these help bridge that gap.
The Toowoomba event drew strong interest from local teachers as well. A few asked about bringing the platform into their schools the following term, which is exactly the kind of follow-up conversation we love.
