We hosted RoboRAVE Australia for the first time in 2023, with hundreds of students from all over the country coming to the University of the Sunshine Coast for one of Australia's biggest student robotics competitions.
RoboRAVE pulls together school teams to compete across a range of challenges. Line following, sumo, freestyle innovation. As the host, we were running the show: organising the events, coordinating with schools and teams, and keeping the multi-day program ticking over.
The arena at UniSC was full of kids in colourful team shirts, and the opening ceremony had a huge crowd. Hundreds of students competing, working together, and getting really into solving problems with their robots. That's pretty much exactly the outcome we work toward, so seeing it all happen in one place was a great few days.
Hosting RoboRAVE was a big step up for us, and it set things up nicely for the years that followed, including the 2024 World Championships.
