We got accepted into the UQ ilab Accelerator, one of Australia's longest-running university startup programs. As UQ engineering grads we already had ties to the place, so it was great to be back in that environment with mentors, other founders, and a bit more structure around what we were doing.
The program helped us tighten up our go-to-market, work out how to actually sell into schools (which has its own quirks: procurement cycles, budget timing, curriculum alignment, PD requirements), and start thinking seriously about going beyond Queensland. We expanded our pilots, kept gathering feedback from teachers, and used what we learned to shape features like the lesson plans, classroom controls, and the blocks-to-Python pathway.
ilab was a great fit for us at that stage and gave us the runway to move from pilots into proper commercial deployments.
