The Micromelon Rover won an Australian Good Design Award Gold in the Product Design category. The Good Design Awards are run by Good Design Australia and recognise design and innovation across loads of disciplines, and Gold is the top tier. We're stoked.
The judges picked up on the things we've spent years sweating over: the industrial design of the Rover itself, how it handles classroom abuse, and the attachment system that lets students bolt on 3D-printed parts. They also called out how the Rover spans from grade 3 through to senior secondary, and the blocks-to-Python pathway that grows with the student.
When the Rover gets out of the way and lets the learning happen, we've done our job. Getting recognised for that alongside some of the best-designed products in the country is a great feeling.
