We ran hands-on robotics workshops at World Science Festival Brisbane 2024, one of the biggest public science events in the world. Held across multiple venues at South Bank, the festival pulls in tens of thousands of visitors. Families, students, and science enthusiasts from all over the country.
Our workshops walked young participants through programming a Rover. Starting with simple driving tasks and working up to more complex activities involving sensors and automated navigation. Our team facilitated each group, making sure every kid (regardless of prior experience) got their Rover doing something cool.
The festival is a great fit for us because it's high-volume, high-energy, and full of kids who've never touched a robot before. Sessions ran across the multi-day event with hundreds of children and families taking part.
Plenty of parents and educators asked us about bringing the platform into their schools, which always tells you a public event has done its job.
Honestly, watching a kid's face light up when their code makes a robot move for the first time is the whole reason we do this.
